Aquarium Posted December 23, 2023 i tried using smoothdoom.pk3, but it replaces enemies, weapons and items with original ones. it would be great if we can play it with 60fps animations. 0 Share this post Link to post
Edward850 Posted December 23, 2023 (edited) Doom cannot animate anything at 60FPS, 35FPS is the upper limit as that's as fast as the actor ticker can ever go (which controls actor animation). Freedoom cannot be made magically compatible with Smoothdoom. You must by hand create the extra animation frames yourself. 1 Share this post Link to post
Herr Dethnout Posted December 24, 2023 Is not that easy, Fredoom (along with Doom and a lot of FPS from the early-mid 90's) used sprites, so the animations are limited to the amount of frames it has. Smooth Doom adds a lot of new hand made frames to giving a more fluid animation, but thoses are made by artists and not magically generated by the game, also it uses Doom sprites as base, that's the reason why it doesn't has any Freedoom asset when you use it. 0 Share this post Link to post
