[LeD]Jake Crusher Posted December 17, 2015 Does anyone have old versions of FreeDoom IWAD's, like 0.1 and everything that followed since then? I am in need of them to trace the development of the project because I'm thinking of writing the article (or something like that) about FreeDoom's progress from one release to the other, until it's final version... if it will happen :) So, anyone can share it with me/us, please? 2 Share this post Link to post
Blastfrog Posted December 17, 2015 Some of them aren't available anymore due to some asshat throwing in copyrighted music. I'm sure someone has a copy of the problematic releases, but I don't. 0 Share this post Link to post
Gez Posted December 17, 2015 There are some old versions that you can find. Make a Google search for "Freedoom 0.6.3" or older, and tell it to search specifically for Freedoom, not Freedom, and you'll get them. Versions from 0.6.4 and later are on the official site. 0 Share this post Link to post

MrFlibble Posted December 17, 2015 Some of the older versions are also scattered over some Linux distros' FTP repositories. 1 Share this post Link to post

Catoptromancy Posted December 21, 2015 The ones I posted that are not properly labelled with a version number might be. 0 Share this post Link to post
Cire Posted August 25, 2016 If anyone are interested in some really old (late 2001/early 2002) Freedoom PWADs, I found some here: https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://freedoom.despayre.org:81/deutex/wads/* This site links to some of the earliest Freedoom files, though the files themself doesn't seem to be backed up: https://web.archive.org/web/20010804162225/http://fraggle.despayre.org/freedoom/deutex/ I can recommend looking around in those old websites I mentioned that are now frozen in time at The Internet Archive to see if there's anything more of interest. 0 Share this post Link to post

Its more that you don't have to post 7 times in a row and you can just edit your original post. 1 hour ago, Mr795 said: have i suddenly just made this one forum post relevant again? If you keep on bumping it up from a 2016 necropost, which is impressive by itself, then yes. 3 Share this post Link to post
baja blast rd. Posted October 29, 2023 Yeah, note the comment about multiposting. Besides the unnecessarily long string of posts, you don't have to announce something like "i made another gif of a really old health bonus sprite from 0.5" before sharing it in a separate post; just wait and post that + sprite together. And please pick an avatar that doesn't have abrasively flashing lights. 3 Share this post Link to post
ℂ𝕝𝕦𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕣_𝔾𝕦𝕪 Posted November 27, 2023 https://sourceforge.net/projects/freedoom/files/OldFiles/ Almost all old versions can be downloaded from sourceforge, from version 0.3 to 0.6.2 2 Share this post Link to post
Lonespacemarine Posted November 28, 2023 (edited) I remember fraggle posting a link in the freed∞m discord to a GitHub page that had all the versions. Even the beta ones I was dumb and didn't save it 😂 1 Share this post Link to post
