I haven't looked into it much but maybe you can find some popular maps that were made with snaphak to see what it's capable of.

The mediafire link simply died because it went unused for long enough. Here it is again https://www.mediafire.com/file/gsvpos1ix6a95d4/overthinked.zip/file Not sure about playing it on a mac though. Are you on a specific source port or is there a mac version of doom 3?

I just learned about something stupid

It's one thing to say, "I know there's a difference between my video game wars and wars in the real world," but it's something else to understand what those differences really are. This exudes the typical off-putting persuasion from corporate PR offices to consumers, and they've really got their work cut out for them with the audience they're targeting, but I'm interested to see where it goes (edit: if it isn't already over, they had one event a month ago). -
What a time we live in. I'm going to start wondering when I see odd necroposts like these if they're being done by a ChatGPT agent someone is experimenting with.

Music that puts you into a good feeling you can't describe?

Too many to list from many different times of my life. One of the early ones is this OCRemix of Sign of Evil, always whisked me away to some mysterious dream-land of sidedefs, sectors and the E1 sky. -
Your Tony Hawk Pro-Skater experience

I remember how popular they were. For me they were games that would be at a friend's house, and I would watch them play it. I never got past figuring out the controls. EDIT: come to think of it the closest thing to THPS was a Coolboarders game for PSX that I played a lot of around the same time. -
The attack token system in Doom Eternal breaks occasionally for no reason at all.
GuyMcBrofist replied to DoomGuy2077's topic in Doom Eternal
No idea. Is that how it really works? Maybe all the monsters attacking once in a while is an intentional part of the gameplay? -
"guis\mainmenu.gui" Is where you'll find the definition of the main menu including the options menu (talking about vanilla doom 3 here), which you can find in pak000.pk4. There, you'll see some entries that use a "cvar" key to refer to the cvar the menu item changes. Doom 3 comes with a GUI editor, which you can use by typing "editGUIs" in the console. Not sure how useful you'll find it. I can get it to open GUIs and browse the elements, but just get a blank window where it's supposed to visually show the gui (edit: turns out having r_multisampling set to non-zero was causing this). I can't speak much for cstdoom3, it's packaged a bit strangely and I didn't bother to install it.

The editor that comes with Doom 3 is pretty old now and probably has lots of compatibility issues. I also can't rotate monsters with it. Consider mapping with DarkRadiant. It was made for the Dark Mod but works just as well for Doom 3 mapping and continues to get updated.

It already has a cult following, and as long as the servers stay up it will remain that way.

From a young age I was interested in meditation and mystical stuff, about seven years ago on my "journey" I finally decided to receive some kind of formal instruction. So, I found someone certified to teach me the Transcendental Meditation technique and ponied up the money for it. Seven years later and I'm still meditating and have attended a couple of retreats and learned more techniques. Aside from it being pretty expensive and me having to ignore what I deem as some woo woo new age stuff it's been a really positive experience, and well worth it IMO.

Do you know some obscure 1990's PC games?
GuyMcBrofist replied to Pixel Fiend's topic in Everything Else
I just stumbled across this game in one of those "100 DOS games in 10 minutes" videos and was totally floored. I played this game very briefly as a kid, and for some reason it left an impression that stuck with me, but I couldn't remember the name, so all my attempts over the years to find it ended in failure. Everything I do remember is all here though, the teleporters, the two letter executable that launches the game, the flat green backdrop (I played a version with simpler graphics). I can finally close the book on this one. -
Never thought about what FIREBLU is until now. I guess to me it looks more like some kind of distortion of reality than anything temperature related.

I think the low gravity of Phobos and Deimos explains why there's no fall damage in the first two episodes. Hell is a different dimension so it doesn't count. By Doom 2, Doomguy has proved how badass he is that he can just say no to fall damage on Earth.
