As we all know, the SMM is definitely the most niche and overall least versatile monster in Doom's bestiary, and mappers struggle much trying to find good scenarios where they can put one. So, I had the idea of trying to come up with ways to make them more usable and worthy of a spot on the roster. I myself thought about doing those two things: -reduce their hitbox size; -reduce their pain chance. I'm not a good mapper however, so my perspective might be a little skewed. To all the people who are much more skilled than me, I therefore ask: what would be your personal changes to implement in this case?

To mark this special occasion, I played through the entirety of the game, something I hadn't done in a long while. It's so funny... Back when I first played it, it was an amazing struggle over an entire week to achieve completion, and now I just casually do it no problems in a single day!

Its my favorite game of all time and a major player in leading me down the path of loving retro gaming, so I just couldn't let it go by without celebrating!

You're completely right, but you see, videos titled "Gaming is in a good spot right now" don't get much attention. Its all about the ragebait to farm more and more clicks and views, because making someone angry is a sure way to guarantee they'll interact with your content and drive the numbers up.

Yeah, I prefer the older style of GTA games too. I have some very fond memories of playing Vice City, not even bothering with completing the missions or anything, I just entered the cheat code for the Rhino and had fun going absolute apeshit lol

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the death of experimental and avant-garde musician Frank Vincent Zappa. He died in the 4th of December 1993, of prostate cancer. Even though he may be long gone, he's for sure not long forgotten, having amassed throughout the years a massive cult following. I don't know why, but I have a feeling that one of those fans currently walks among us in the Doom community... Who could it be?

Reminds me too of all the people on the internet who have never heard metal before saying whenever they come across a new song that it is "Doom-inspired" or that "Mick Gordon helped with composing it", even if it is the most radically different type of stuff compared to nu-Doom's soundtrack.

@Lila Feuer, lol, that reminds me once of a screenshot a friend sent. He was googling the name of a rock we talked about in geology class and one of the first results was an ad for a dildo made of it.

I was watching a YT video, and like always there was an ad at the very beginning. I was ready to skip it, but something caught my attention. The ad lasted for a whole 30 minutes! Very intrigued, I allowed it to play. It was... Very fucking weird, to say the least. They started by saying that making a pose like Wonder Woman would "increase your testosterone levels" and allow you to assert your dominance over others and thus succeed at life, or some shit like that. They also talked about how your mind "could shape the reality around you". All in all, just a bunch of bollocks. But it doesn't end here! I did some quick googling and I found this gem of a YT video covering the CEO of the company who made the ad: People are strange, indeed. Anyways, this episode gave me the idea of asking you what are your personal examples of crazy ass nonsensical ads you've come across. The internet can be a real wild west of insanity sometimes, and I can only wonder about some of the stuff that's lying in there.
