Rudolph Posted January 11 (edited) A warning to fellow Windows 10 users! Yesternight, Windows 10 gave me a bit of a scare when it got stuck trying to install the KB5034441 security update. I had to force-reboot my computer and it appears to be fine, but I feel like spreading the word around to make sure this does not happen to more people. Apparently, the security update is faulty and you should avoid installing it for the time being, especially when the workaround suggested by Microsoft could actively damage your system. P_A_Z Posted January 11 (edited) I've got an error message from Windows Update after reboot. Reason "this update can't be installed". 2 Share this post Link to post
Individualised Posted January 11 (edited) There's a typo in your thread title; I think you meant to say "Do not install Windows 10!". 16 Share this post Link to post

If you choose to stay behind, you will eventually be left behind for good. I can understand holding off on updates for potential breakage but willfully using an unsupported and obsolete old OS is just playing with fire. 2 Share this post Link to post

Rudolph Posted January 12 With a pattern like that, it makes me wonder if Microsoft is not doing it on purpose... 1 Share this post Link to post
Stupid Bunny Posted January 12 That is something I've always noticed, that every big OS release seems to be followed by another release that just seems, in essence, to be a bugfix of the last one. Even Win98 could be argued as just a more improved and stable Win95. XP kind of breaks that mold and stands sort of on its own as far as I can tell (does it count as an improvement on Win2000? I vaguely, barely remember using the latter), as does Me which I'd make a "one giant bug" joke about but I've never used Me so it would be hack work of me to try 4 Share this post Link to post

The worst thing about Windows 7 is that it's depricated Literally everything else about it is superior to every other Windows OS since 8 1 Share this post Link to post

It's more like: Windows XP: Okay Windows Vista : Bad Windows 7: Okay Windows 8: Bad Windows 10: Bad Windows 11: Bad 2 Share this post Link to post
