As someone who has wads that would now technically be considered lost media, I deleted them because I found the maps dreadful and not worth playing in the present. I do wonder if that was the wrong choice in the interest of media preservation, but I don't think much of value was lost. Maybe my opinion will change with maturity. People responded to the maps positively but I felt they didn't reflect my values regarding level design in the present. Such is life, I suppose.

The fact that rd made my favorite slaughter map ever in only 3 hours is fucking insane. I am biased obviously but holy shit it's so good.

At the risk of derailing the current topic, this is why wads like AZ make me uncomfortable Yeah, I'll pass... I'm glad the cacowards have no tolerance for hate. Shoutouts to those who broke off the DPBs and saw through 40z's truly abhorrent behavior. And shoutouts to the wider doom community for being so accepting and tolerant. Who knew that just because someone is different, you shouldn't think less of them? On a more related note, I wanna give some shoutouts to my boys. I'm so honored that @Egg Boy and the Squonker team let me join their ranks, I have so much respect for them and I learned so much about mapping from the experience of working on the next Squonker project (stay tuned!). I made so much cool stuff with @myolden this year it's crazy, including a collab map that is absolutely nuts. @Korp continues to be one of my best friends and one of the people I can count on most in this community. I'm absolutely dumbfounded by his musical talent and output! @HiRon, @Christophine Place, @Yumheart, and @finnks13 were my favorite mappers this year, as well as being some of the chillest people I know. The work I saw from them in Hardfest 2 fucks so hard, it's not even funny. I'm so happy Finnks won a caco for that wad, he absolutely earned it! And lastly, shoutouts to @Alaux for Nugget Doom. Easily my favorite source port, and has a ton of really cool features worth check-ing out.

I really hate corny-ass community drama but I'll just say this. If you guys are really passionate about this project, I'd learn from this and do exactly the opposite of what happened here. I accept your apology and hope to see this project come to fruition :) -
The new Danny Brown album is so good, it might slightly overtake Scaring The Hoes for me.

This wad is really special. Finnks and Yumheart continue to be the community's most necessary dynamic duo! Do NOT let this slip under the radar. It's everything the first was but better and more focused, without losing the experimental edge that makes these maps so great. -
Just wanna say if I haven't already, this port is fantastic and deserves all the accolades it has been getting. It feels like an amalgamation of every feature a player could want in a source port, without straying beyond the feel of the original game. I'm honored to be a tester, and hats off to Alaux for pulling this all together. Weapon inertia is so damn cool!

Are there any builds for this project? I might be willing to give the current maps a whirl. -
Keep it concise. Most people, myself included, don't wanna read your manifesto. It's very easy in forum culture to accidentally type a lot of words and say very little, whereas you want keep it as simple and brief as possible in reality. Also use spacing (like this!) to separate your ideas. You need not worry about MLA formatting on the Internet, just focus on accessibility of your ideas.

This map is pretty basic but I still had a good time with it. The archvile encounter at the end is totally knee-capped by the monster-blocking linedefs, I'd prob remove that. The super dark aesthetic is pretty rad, I really like that. Pretty neat map overall!

As a mapper, I honestly take great joy in seeing other people find novel solutions to my encounters, whether I intend them or not. I say break the map however you want, I'm not your dad.
