Overall nice but nothing outstanding. It's kinda cute that each level has a stock theme: the gray techbase, the sewer, the storage (which was rather cool thanks to that unusual music track), the city, hell; but the rendition isn't very original and there are also some knockoffs. It's interesting to see how the author was moving from the big levels of the Europa series to something with a smaller scale. Even when it shines the most it's stuff that was done better in Scythe.

WTF Barubary theme from BoF2 for MAP03, that's not right. an underrated set, but it gets really nasty towards the end. some very evil monster placement brings down the score a lot.

Lots of effort, lots of decoration, but sadly this mapset has an ambiance & gameplay like 'I've seen that too many times before'. The monster placement (including the dull popups) very add to this. Simply said: it lacks originality. On details, combining of details, and on gameplay - which is too much of here's a bunch of imps, there some revs, and of course we have an AV locked in the middle of a room with only one exit and nowhere to hide. Overall despite the effort: meh.

Posting again, I finished all maps @ the least. I must say that map08's end area really sucks. You have to walk up towards 2 guarding cyberdemons. You can always fall down on baddies and 1 spider mastermind. Had to do a edge shot, which is a bit alright, but it feels like a puzzle game thing than something Doom. ~1/5 lol, still, good maps here and there (maybe he should have played/beta it himself?).

I really like the beginning maps, haven't tried out the last ones except for map09. I think the dark is what tripped me out. So far, it's quite good. Puzzles ain't much my favorite. The cyberdemon trip on map05's end was breaks a bit from the usuals (not a wild west shoot out like). map09 is actually quite easy if you start skimming through fast enough and start rocketing from a top corner. You will most likely win with a bit of a scratch. My custom combos gave me quite an ass whooping too! ~3/5

Not flawless, hence I give 4*, but an old wad by a legendary author that still holds up reasonably well. Too bad there weren't more episodes.

Erik seems to have the gift of making a map look good without using masses of detail. Gameplay is supurb in most of the maps.

This is good but i always think of Erik Alm ripping to many ideas and things to make his wads great cuz a lot of this seems like u have based things off of AV, Hell Revealed, and Plutonia Etc., etc. So im only gonna give u a 2 ok. I dont mean to be jerk or anything im just saying think up more of ur own ideas please. Something new so i dont have to be with the same thing all the time.

Still rocks, one decade on! A shame this didn't get a top 10 in 2002. I loved the final level combined with its music, and Map08 is such a good Living End knockoff - that's not saying the previous maps disappoint either! Too bad episode 2 never came out. :(

Excellent wad. Great map design and gameplay, good vanilla detailing. Perfect difficulty for me to play on UV. Plutonia/AV styled monster placement and traps. 5/5 - Belial.

Quite tough. Map 3 has the worst music in the history of doom maps.

Absolutely fantabulous. Looks great and good
level design. Thought the monster placement got a
bit repetitive (ooo revenant... ooo archvile...
etc etc.), and some may find it a bit hard. But
otherwise, this is fantastic.

I agree 100%. The previous review is just a shame! Eric Alm, ripping?!? No matter what!! This wad is really awesome: very good gameplay, great architecture, and the first reviewer was right too: a little bit too hard (but not insane). 5/5 - Jive

An incredibly decent map set with something for everybody. Really liked MAP06 (Dream World).

5/5 for Map07 alone. Map09 is arguably the hardest final map I've ever seen... I was lucky I was able to score a single hit on the Icon Of Sin.

Whoever did the review above must be an EXTREME nitpicker. Who in the world that's serious would downgrade a wad even a fifth that harshly for what most, including me, do not even consider to be a peoblem. This is an easy 5 stars. and I hope to see other people continue to declare the above review as WAY too harsh.

An excellent, well made map-set that kept me entertained for ages. If like the retard above moaning about stolen this-and-that is correct, which I doubt, I don't give a fuck -- if this is the result of 'stolen resources' then I for one want him to continue stealing. 5/5

Excellent pack of mostly medium-sized levels. I loved the Map29 knockoff, even if it's the least original thing here.

2fort on it's original incarnation.   Pretty great.

The first ever version of 2fort. It barely resembles its later incarnations.   Crazy how an entire franchise and FPS genre spawned from a single map. It's a crime that the origins of Team Fortress have been forgotten. Most people don't know anything before Quake/TF1 2fort, but nope, this is yet another massively influential thing that the Doom community can claim.

Great fun. Bleak, metal-driven style over fairly easy substance, which is a good thing. I can see the song getting annoying in a more challenging map.

Pretty fun map if you want some quick, easy slaughter fun. Just sucks a bit that you can just cheese the whole thing by leaving the arena and running around at the edges of the map. Cool to play with gameplay mods tho!   Music is alright but it does get a little annoying after a while.

Classic, sober, simple tech map that I'm fond of. The flow of the map is like a river, and the backtrack (that myself is usually upset about) is intuitive to follow. The teleport repopulation is smart enough. I don't know about the health/ammo tightness other comments talked about because I played with a mod.
