fair enough, and in those cases with progression blocked by secrets (particularly obtuse secrets) where I'm practically beating my head against a wall I just fire up the wiki and see what I'm missing

recently, after a break of a few months, I've been getting back into doom and I gotta say that in regards to secret hunting I just can't find a way to enjoy it, which is a shame because it's one of the game's central mechanics. does anyone have a specific approach they take to secret hunting that makes it more enjoyable in their opinion?

tested it myself with nuts3- port still chugs but still produces enough frames to be playable on a 6 core -

recently i had to reinstall windows and I hadn't played zdaemon in a while even then so when trying to log into my at the time second account (because my first one was lost) today, I couldn't seem to remember the password and it wasn't letting me use my email to reset it, anyone know what I should do?

for some reason loading wads doesn't seem to work, I tried loading grove.wad, which failed, then I tried auger;zenith which also failed, with the error message saying something about the AASHITTY texture -

Just out of curiosity, in what ways does doom retro differ from vanilla gameplay wise? -
Which port are the most vanilla? (in terms of gameplay not cosmetics)

prboom+ is most accurate in the list, doom retro isn't very accurate, and gz/zandronum are not accurate at all. -
