Back in 2019 I'm waiting on two items before upgrading: 1. AMD 5950X 16-core 2. NVIDIA Ampere Titan RTX (yet to be released)

https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Pseudorandom_number_generator Looking at Doom's RNG has picked up my interest in designing the most random 16x16 table WITH ALL 0-255 VALUES PRESENT. How I would design it in C#: 1. Call upon RNGCryptoServiceProvider for a seed. 2. From that seed, iteratively create N hashes. (Preferably with a well-known, battle-tested hash, like SHA2) 3. For each hash, derive an 8-bit table using with the Fischer-Yates shuffle algorithm, to ensure all 0-255 values are present. (Fischer-Yates is basically drawing numbers out of a hat) 4. Design a battery of testing for randomness, like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diehard_tests... and run the 8-bit tables through them. 5. Assign ranked-based scores for each table, based on how they perform in the battery tests. 6. Pick the best performing table. iono, anything I'm missing here?

I used Git back when I was an Infosec Engineer. It's been two years since I called my two weeks (and also my last line of code written), and it's going to take me a few hours to reconfigure and refind my wherewithal to get back into Git. I may be missing something here, but isn't Git when I used to code, best for versioning and documenting changes? I don't think either of those things are an issue with how I build my project, which just requires a current-state backup plus several past versions incase I fuck up the current one. Maybe I'm just lazy and finding excuses to not relearn new things =p

DropBox, there's no manual backup for something of my scope I have like 4 computers in different places, so to sync the configuration for editors, I also have the installed directory on DropBox as well Not sure how everybody does versioning of their WADs, but I increment my save name by one everytime I do it. So DVII-SE has roughly 2800 saves since the First Edition's release. M is the map saves, N is the resource file saves.

In chronological order: DV was an ad-hoc modified version of Squares.wad @Csonicgo uncovered my fraud https://www.doomworld.com/php/topstory.php?id=3183 DVII First Edition, MAP25 The Unholy Cathedral was derived from a blueprint of the Notre Dame of Paris DVII Second Edition, MAP01 is just a transformation of Romero's E1M1 into polar coordinates, then slapped onto the moon. What I lack in creativity, I make up for in copycatting. Don't get me started on DVII's Stargate map...

I don't use them cause they break in co-op.

The monster lineup for DVII-E1 is UDoom + Chaingunners + HK + [Mystery Monster] My DVII-E1 is a fanfic that retains the original E1 spirit. -
