About This File

This is the first known COD ray gun recreated in Doom. I dunno if it's been done before, but have fun with this, and use it for whatever...

I made this as accurate to the COD ray gun as much as I could. Like I said, if you wanna use it for something or modify it, do it. Credit me though and link the download (aka this page).

The weapon is in slot 6 and it comes after the plasma rifle.

One new weapon to add to your arsenal, and by the looks of it I had to use the console to gain access to the Raygun (give raygun on the console) seeing that I can't seem to find it replacing any weapon in-game, though it seems to be intentional. Nothing really spectacular about the weapon in of itself, it looks alright and it uses cell ammo of course. The weapon doesn't penetrate through enemies and acts much like the weapon from Call of Duty Zombies, with added knockback against tougher enemies and gibbing weaker enemies quite easily. The Raygun is also pretty powerful, taking out a Cyberdemon in under 90 shots, to which each shot uses 1 cell, so it can be a handy weapon at times. However, even at that, the novelty wears off rather quickly and you might just go back to using a BFG if you want to dish out high damage output, and perhaps making better use of cell ammo on top of that. The weapon works at the end of the day, nothing bad but nothing really great either. Perhaps best used for mindless fun or if you are a fan of Call of Duty Zombies.

2fort on it's original incarnation.   Pretty great.

The first ever version of 2fort. It barely resembles its later incarnations.   Crazy how an entire franchise and FPS genre spawned from a single map. It's a crime that the origins of Team Fortress have been forgotten. Most people don't know anything before Quake/TF1 2fort, but nope, this is yet another massively influential thing that the Doom community can claim.

Great fun. Bleak, metal-driven style over fairly easy substance, which is a good thing. I can see the song getting annoying in a more challenging map.

Pretty fun map if you want some quick, easy slaughter fun. Just sucks a bit that you can just cheese the whole thing by leaving the arena and running around at the edges of the map. Cool to play with gameplay mods tho!   Music is alright but it does get a little annoying after a while.

Classic, sober, simple tech map that I'm fond of. The flow of the map is like a river, and the backtrack (that myself is usually upset about) is intuitive to follow. The teleport repopulation is smart enough. I don't know about the health/ammo tightness other comments talked about because I played with a mod.
