ZDaemon 1.10.24 is now available; ZDaemon Launcher users will be able to update by going to Help -> Check for Updates. The Linux and BSD ZServ binaries are available via the Downloads page. This version contains several nice additions, improvements and fixes; for the full run-down you'll want to check out the changelog. Please note: 1.10.24 servers will require all players to update to the latest version. Highlights - Line thickness for Automap added as CVAR 'am_linethickness' or 'Line thickness' in Display Options. Setting the value to zero will automatically adjust it depending on the screen resolution. - Add additional episode detection for Retail Doom in order to better account for official and unofficial episode additions. - Joystick support extended. Function of the two joysticks can be set to Forward, Strafe, Yaw, Pitch and Fly. Settings can be found in 'Advanced Input Options'. - Chex Quest is now a selectable game in the Launcher and Wizard. For ZDaemon Launcher users, you'll be able to update by going to Help -> Check For Updates. For Doom Explorer users, our setup executable and archive have been updated accordingly in the Downloads section.

ZDaemon Thursday Night Survival #638 - 1 Fast Fight
AF-Domains.net replied to TeamTNS's topic in Multiplayer Doom
There isn't a US session, but at this current time we're going through the Rocket Launcher-only rotation. EDIT: Now we're on "Kill 'em all" - a most interesting prospect at present. -
ZDaemon Thursday Night Survival #630 - ichinichi (Part II)
AF-Domains.net replied to TeamTNS's topic in Multiplayer Doom
Unfortunately problems were being encountered as a result of a foul wind from a south-easterly position (relative). The master is accessible again at this stage though. -
That could make for a fun deathmatch session once it has been released.

A new version of the ZDaemon 1.10.23 client has been released. ZDaemon Launcher users can retrieve the new files by going to Help -> Check For Updates, otherwise the updated files are available via our setup executable and archive via the Downloads section. From the changelog: - 'client_ar' CVAR has been added, this will allow you to set a specific game display format (The game display format you set will only be used if it is equal to or below the maximum allowed format as dictated by the 'sv_aspectratio' CVAR). 'Max. Game Display Format' has been added under 'Display Options'. - The legacy CVARs 'fullscreen', 'fullscreen_bl' and 'mouse_sensitivity' will now have the prefix 'l_' added to them to ensure that there are no post-migration conflicts.

Those wads definitely had their own convention. Though when it comes to the la_compilation wads, the later versions were done independently; the differing map naming conventions are to denote the different level types.
-
What you're describing sounds similar to the LA wads that were (and still are) being hosted. I'm not sure if any of thse wad names (partial names) will ring a bell: la-archiinvasion la-lavaworld la-spacestation la-swampworld la-waterworld

We need more of those plasma marines, they're always lots of fun. -
ZDaemon Thursday Night Survival #626 - DBP60: Eldritch Voyage

Salty will be pleased about the contribution. Some of the maps were.. a tad brutal on pain. -
DRON12261, ZDaemon does support mp3/ogg sound lumps. This is confirmed. There are also wads used on ZDaemon with a said mp3/ogg lump defined in the MAPINFO that function without a problem. (3waymadness-ctf-v5.wad)

help getting sigil to run on zdaemon
AF-Domains.net replied to nolongeramnion's topic in Multiplayer Doom
The next step may well be to check on the doom.wad, just in case the one that's being loaded is not correct. For reference the filesize of the doom.wad here is 12408292 (bytes). There's otherwise nothing preventing Sigil from working on ZDaemon. (There are a few servers running with the given wad) The next time you attempt to start the server, in the ZSWizard could you go to "Step 2", click Logging and enable "Standard"? This will turn on the standard/general log; once done once the server starts (or doesn't start), click this button: It will open the working directory for the server; at the point look for the gen-20230605.log (or the one that has the date of today), and then attach it here (or if you prefer to send it to me via a Private/Direct Message). -

Oops, the current ZServ is dated 2023-01-08. (It can be acquired from the main websit) I also just did a test using the ZServ dated 2022-12-02 and also a fresh download of Sigil from the Romero website, the server was able to start. Additionally: Have you also attempted to make use of sigil_v1_21 instead of sigil_compat_v1_21? -
help getting sigil to run on zdaemon
AF-Domains.net replied to nolongeramnion's topic in Multiplayer Doom
That is quite odd. I'm starting up an identical server on this end with both the skin and sigil wads loaded and the same error is not being displayed. Where did you acquire the sigil_compat_v1_21 wad from? Just in case, could you rename it and then redownload it? (Just in case it has become corrupted) (On this end sigil_compat_v1_21 was fetched afresh, and the ZServ version is 1.10.22 (2021-01-08)) -

Have you set the Game/IWAD correctly in this case? While performing a test on this end the Game/IWAD was set to "Doom Registered (doom.wad)" and the server was able to start. If you're definng a maplist then you'll want to set e3m1-e3m9.
