Introducing The Phobos Amphitheater - A YouTube Channel About Doom WAD Music!

It does make me wonder what Josh Martel ended up doing after TNT though. I couldn't find ANYTHING about him outside of his Doom Wiki page Hopefully!

Thank you! Thanks! Yeah, there's a ton out there, and I know I haven't heard them all, but I can't wait to explore more soon

Introducing The Phobos Amphitheater - A YouTube Channel About Doom WAD Music!

Thank you! I'd really like to explore more of the history of community MIDIs and how that ties in to composition and musical style. So much to learn about! Awesome, so happy you enjoyed it! There'll be lots more to come soon :)

Noted! Haha, that thread you linked is one I've frequented many times

Glad to hear it! Yeah, it's been in the works for a few months. Just been waiting for the right time to spread the word about it
  6. Hi everyone! Earlier this year, I started making MIDI music for the first time, and doing so inspired me to create a music-centered YouTube channel. Enter The Phobos Amphitheater, a place where you’ll find videos about custom WAD music written by members of the Doom Community! This channel is not only one where you can find tunes to listen to, but also a place where I discuss the history of custom Doom music, play covers of MIDIs, and analyze MIDIs from a music theory perspective among other subjects. There are many videos to come, but below are just a couple I have made already that are a good place to start in the meantime. There are a few others on the channel as well, and I hope you enjoy them. Finally, and most importantly, please feel free (either here in the thread or in a video comment) to recommend MIDIs for me to feature in new videos. Thank you!
  7. Downloaded this right away - can't wait to give it a spin. Congrats on your first release man!!
  8. Just a few maps left to play. Man, this is fantastic! I'm digging the indoor-facility-set-in-the-desert look of the first episode and the underground caverns of the second a lot, and the fights are definitely keeping me looking over my shoulder. Quite a few of the traps with foes teleporting out of their cubbies to behind the player here remind me a bit of the same kind of sneaky fights in Speed of Doom. The amount of resources combined with the number and types of enemies in each map is nice and balanced I thought, too. Mowing down a big group of hitscanners with the chaingun is always good fun, and I always think I can run away from a big group of baddies until a pinky or two pins me against a wall. Really excited to see the rest!

    Awesome, thank you! :D

Hi @volleyvalley! You mentioned you don't mind if a musician were to join. I don't map, but I have been making MIDIs for a little while and have been looking for more projects to compose for. Would you guys be okay with having a music-only team member on board?

    Subverter [MBF21] - A very normal map

This was really fun! Definitely had me thinking- er, I mean... never mind, no strange happenings here. Just another normal day at the office :)

The Cammy channel (now featuring 1000 Lines 3 music)

Thank you for this! It really is nice to have a place where you can easily access all the tracks and hear them the way they're supposed to sound. Some sounds definitely don't translate well across certain soundfonts haha, so this is great. I'm excited to find out what the soundtrack is to that recently-released vanilla wad you posted about as well :D
