Forli Posted October 29, 2019 (edited) This is a 30 map wad made during the month of october using only textures and monsters from doom2. With "redundancy" I mean that every map has at least 2 of each key that appears on it, same for weapons, also each map has 2 exits, with this I was hoping to get some rahter nonlinear maps, you'll decide how successful that was. The maps are designed for pistol starts (but you can play continuous if you want). Difficulty settings are implemented. Forli Posted October 30, 2019 Well it's actually just 30 maps, I didn't make the secret maps. I had set my aim at 30 to make it a bit more doable and by the end I was exhausted and didn't have an idea for what to do for the secret maps... I'm considering doing 2 maps later outside of nanowadmo, so the fact that they are not speedmaps is the thing that would make them special as secret maps, but that may drag down the "purity" of the wad so I don't know :S. Also, thanks to everyone who has already started playing, I hope you enjoy the rest of the wad. Hah, thank you :) I'm curious, though, for the sake of my getting better at Doom - what kind of approach should I be using to get through that large fight? Forli Posted October 31, 2019 (edited) Just making them infight and then getting away to some empty corner while they are busy (I tried to make it so that going directly to the exit would get you killed). A way that works for me is: shoot a few rockets at the revenants while going to the center room, then run around the center pillar while avoiding the enemies and shooting rockets at the arachnotrons since their size can block you if you let them come out, then when most of the monsters are near the center and start infighting, break out into the room that seems to have less monsters in the way, from there it becomes a lot easier to avoid damage so it doesn't matter if you lost most of your health getting to that point. Biff Dunderbuff Posted November 2, 2019 I've only completed a few levels, but these are very good maps. I also really love the names as they fit the theme of the map pack very well. The secrets (at least in the first few levels) are very basic and obvious, but you made 30 maps within a month so I can understand; they also don't really hurt the overall quality of the map set at all.
