NO MORE 3D CURSED MODELS FOR DOOM
TheUltimateDoomer666 replied to BaianãoDoido's topic in Doom General
It's a good start, but I think animating the models and making the movement look natural is going to be the most difficult part of this project. Currently the Imp moves more like a damaged Terminator than an organic creature. I think one of the reasons that there is yet to be a complete DOOM model set that actually looks good is that it's nigh impossible to create models that are faithful to the original sprites without them looking out of place. Additionally, DOOM's relatively simple AI with zig-zagging monsters means even well-animated models may still look weird in motion. In case anyone is curious, images of the previous two DOOM model packs can be viewed here: -
That isn't even relevant. mrthejoshmon's point still applies.

Except that last part is irrelevant because you're not just using free sample libraries but instead are distributing copyrighted samples from various commercial libraries and VSTs. -

I've always wondered what that installer's MIDI was from. I had no idea it was an early ROTT track! -
Things about Doom you just found out
TheUltimateDoomer666 replied to Sigvatr's topic in Doom General
This is not related to the game itself, but some (not all) UK copies of the Depths of DOOM Trilogy box have the border of the id logo embossed. Also, these alternate boxes have much "deeper" embossing, especially around the Cyberdemon's hips and the edges of the games' box shots. The entire box is also glossy, while on the more common US-style box only certain parts are glossy, such as the game covers and screenshots. -
I haven't had those problems with a GTX 1060 3GB. I'm running the game with most settings enabled at 1080p, and it seems to be a consistent 60 FPS (I also checked this with an FPS counter). Not to dismiss the poor performance you're experiencing, but I would guess there is some issue somewhere unrelated to the game's optimization given the age of my card.

That entire website is AI-generated. I guess this is the future of the Internet. Endless machine-generated garbage. Regarding the game, I've never heard of it before, but I see it has a number of Steam reviews positively comparing it to DOOM 3. I guess I'll take a look at it, although I'll be wary of glowing praise for it due to that ridiculous article.

Which 90s fps games have the best story, gameplay, and soundtrack?
TheUltimateDoomer666 replied to TheNoiseClassicDooMfan's topic in Everything Else
Story: Half-Life. I really can't think of anything else. Gameplay: DOOM and Duke Nukem 3D. Soundtrack: Quake II and Turok 2.
