Greetings to everyone here! As you all know, that viddumping is the process of converting doom demos i.e .lmp files to videos. Source ports like DSDA-Doom, PrBoom+ and PrBoomX support this feature of viddumping. FFMPEG is used for viddumping demos to videos. But, recently, I got to know the concept of VMAF, which is an Emmy-winning perceptual video quality assessment algorithm developed by Netflix. We can calculate VMAF scores when we have both the 'lossless file, which has audio and video in lossless format' and the encoded video which is of more managable file sizes. Now, the encoded videos (if they are not recorded in lossless mode, for audio and video e.g flac audio and libvpx-vp9 with `-lossless 1` ( in FFMPEG) determine 100% lossless audio and video compression.) are lossy in nature. But generally people don't encode in lossless if they want to share it to Youtube or other video sharing sites, because of file size issues. Encoded can be also 'visually lossless' which is ofcourse subjective. But, in this case, we don't have any 'video file' for input because both the audio and video are encoded as the demo plays back, so how to check VMAF with help of FFMPEG when we are viddumping our demos to videos ?

I'm listening romantic songs. Don't ask which ones I am listening because you won't understand the language of them. Still if you understand Hindi Language check down the video here :

Do you strafe run to the left or to the right?
Classic SSG Enjoyer replied to DoomGappy's topic in Doom General
I am keyboard only player, so Strafing is pretty easy for me both ways coz controls are very much in my reach. Just like RonLivingston said, even I use strafing right and left to dodge projectiles. I generally practice dodging Imp, Mancubus, Cacodemon, Hell Knight, Baron, Revenant, Cyberdemon and other enemies who use projectiles on fast monsters and even when partial invisibilty on. Just to practice and improve my reflexes. -
It won't cause any legal actions on me, right ?

I asked at 4 places, but it is giving me inconsistent answers. sometime it says, yes, legal action can be done against you, some say, you have taken steps to rectifiy the situation so don't worry, some say that ask the Election Commission about it, one ai platform told me, Sorry, I am not a lawyer, so I can't help with you in this situation. -

Specters are too invisible! How to fix?
Classic SSG Enjoyer replied to Azure_Horror's topic in Doom General
The indexed light mode of DSDA-Doom, however, looks identical to the OG Doom Software/Vanilla Based Lighting. In real life, tbh, it will be impossible to tell which renderer between Software or OpenGL you are using execpt from performance. (Opengl gives much better performance when compared to Software). Also, an another major highlight of the port is that since 0.26.0, the spectre and partial invisibility fuzz effect looks very close to one of OG Doom or nearly identical to Vanilla. So, what you get is nothing but best of both worlds, i.e classic, authentic look and feel, high resolution, and very high performance ( very high fps)! If you haven't checked it out, check it right now : https://github.com/kraflab/dsda-doom -
Casali brothers of course.
