what are you working on? I wanna see your wads.

Finally got the other two deathmatch exclusive maps for Austrian Avian Association: Post-Mortem done. Check it; The Outcasts' Village: The Incomplete Darkworld Base: I was going to update the main thread today with a teaser post, but a combination of Thanksgiving fatigue and a less complete than expected epilogue have nixed this OG plan. Try the 11th, perhaps? -
>go to idsoft's office circa 1995 >they're wrapping up version 1.9 of doom >secretly edit all the cheats to immediately kill the player upon entry >leave

What are your favorite shortcuts and tricks for map making?
MundyC replied to EraserheadBaby's topic in Doom General
This little guy from Doom Builder's Edit menu is a godsend, especially if you're like me and sketch out top-down outlines of your maps before actually blocking them out. You will need to adjust the size and location multiple times, but once you get it right, oh boy... (It's also great for making automap art!) -

"Hallo? Zis is ze German Coast Guard." "Mayday! Mayday! We're sinking! Repeat, we are sinking!" "Vat are you zinking about?" (Jokes aside, this is a deathmatch map I just finished for Austrian Avian Association: Post-Mortem. Three maps down, four single-player + two deathmatch to go!) -
Game that everyone hates but you like?
MundyC replied to TheNoiseClassicDooMfan's topic in Everything Else
I'll go ahead and pick Zelda's Adventure. This game is absolute jank and stank, and I can't say I disagree. The amount of people that actually like it is, I dunno, one-and-a-half dozen people. And yet, Zelda's Adventure is genuinely fascinating to me. From its cut content, to its development history, to Viridis themselves, and so on... All of it is a shining example of a developer promising the biggest and best game ever, then failing on all fronts due to a number of internal and external factors. I genuinely love finding new information and lore about this game, and I believe there's still more to find out. I'd also pick The Faces of Evil and The Wand of Gamelon, but recent fan remaster and Arzette events have helped to improve their reputation. They're not as hated as they were in, say, 2009 to 2012. -
I have to come clean, guys. I was really hungry, and ate all the nominations for My House while nobody was looking. Now it'll most likely never get a Cacoward :(

MeenTC v1.0 will happen when GZDoom gains the ability to play cutscenes in a level (as opposed to startup/between levels). From there, I'll add the rest of the cutscenes as well as some features I haven't gotten around to doing (battle music, working compass, etc)

Pieces Of Media You Can't Believe Were Made By The Same Person?

I still can't believe that Doom's famous Revenant appreciator Marphy Black created the "WTF Boom" sound effect. -
[NEW - v1.2] Austrian Avian Association (AAA) - Eight Levels of 1800s Fun
MundyC replied to MundyC's topic in WAD Releases & Development
After a month or so of deliberation, a new update appears! v1.2 of AAA is an all-arounder with tougher end-game fights, enemy and map tweaks, new custom textures/GFX/sounds, and more. Unless a horrifying game-breaking glitch is found, this should be the last update to the first nine maps AND before I start work on the Post-Mortem epilogue. So, your potential speed demos might be fine going forward? Anyways, go get it. Changelog: -
I want to make a Chill Manor TC for GZDoom to go along with my I.M. Meen one, but the graphic ripper I used for Meen doesn't cover CM's format due to various mipmap-related changes. One day, I'll do it... I promise...

I might like the Philips CD-i a bit too much.
