The Astral Adventure a 2 maps for GZDoom

Hello everyone


I am happy to tell you that I have finished my wad it is called "The Astral Adventure". This is a 2 levels wad for Doom 2 with Tango's Supercharge mod by @Tango It brings some new music and monsters. The wad works under GZDoom and VKDoom

I forgot to note that I cannot modify map02 because ultimate doom builder does not recognize it but it is playable So if ever there is a texture problem unfortunately I would have to start redoing the whole map even see the wad...

Dude i love the layout of these maps!  So great.  Secrets were well hidden too.  i wish a couple of the trigger linedefs were a bit more obvious, but its fine.

 

I couldnt find a single way to enter the room that opens the exit door of the first map.  I had to noclip.  I looked in UDB and the doors aren't sector tagged nor is there a trigger I can find, so i think you might have just missed adding those line actions.

 

Also i hate launching stuff with cmd so i packed all your stuff into a pk3 so you can just download and play.  i would recommend that simply to lower the barrier to entry

 

All and all great experience.

 

Visuals 7/10

Gameplay 6/10 (only because UV felt kinda tame... could also just be all the OP guns from the mod lol)

Feel 9/10


Definitely adding this to the collection

 

ALSO, the secret that goes outside has 2 linedefs that aren't impassable and allow the player to fall into the pit and can only get out with commands!

There are a bunch of music lumps sandwiched between MAP02 and ENDMAP (there can't be any additional lumps between these two aside from stuff that the level editor creates for you) -- move them below ENDMAP and the editor will recognize the map again.

I was a little puzzled as to why you asked Supercharge to be played with this....but anyway.

Update: I added the supercharge mod in the wad and I put it in .pk3 format so no need to launch 2 mods because supercharge is included. Also I corrected and modified something like secrets and added certain actions. I also corrected the secret which is outside

Okay the updates have taken this map from pretty good to fucking great!  So smooth and fun to play, love the modifcations to the secrets and the pit! Much much better!

 

Barely noticable but monitor in the green room left of spawn still missing txture on the side haha XD

 

This is great!  Cant wait to see what you come out with next!
