Hello everyone, I wanted to share a little update on what I've been up to lately. Some of you may remember that I took a break from the Doomworld community to pursue my dream of creating a game in C using Ncurses. As time went on, I found myself becoming increasingly frustrated with Ncurses and its somewhat quirky syntax. This, along with a few other factors, eventually led to the cancellation of the game. However, I didn't give up on the idea of creating TUI (Text-based User Interface) applications. Instead, I decided to build a library that can generate TUI interfaces just like Ncurses but with a focus on being platform-independent. The goal was to ensure that this library could be used on various operating systems without any dependencies. I'm excited to share that this project is nearing completion, and as a result, I am now able to return to the Doomworld community. I understand that this might not be earth-shattering news, but I wanted to provide some context for my early return. So yeah, I am back! (As for the library itself, I've decided to keep its name private to maintain my anonymity. The actual project contains my name in it.)

Before I say anything, I am aware that nobody will really care if I take a break. I am only posting this because I somewhat feel required to post and remain active on doomworld. I am posting this so that I can let myself take a break without feeling guilty. So as you can see, I am taking a short break from Doomworld. The reason is that I am working on making my dream game! I have been programming in C for a while and decided that I wanted to make an open-source and free game. The issue is that I am focusing on this project more than I am focusing on anything else. I am now going to temporarily take a break so that I can work on this full-time. It could be a failure, but for now, I want to do this project. (If you aren't interested in technology, skip this part) I am making it using the ncurses library and plain C. No C++, no game engine, I am making it from scratch using the most bare-bones technology. I predict I will finish the game and return to doomworld in one or two months max. Thank you for understanding :) in the meantime, I hope to see you soon! Bye Doomers!

Introducing PlutHundred, a community project centered around The Plutonia Experiment that challenges mappers to utilize exactly 100 line specials. Creating and submitting your map is open to everyone, with the only exception being if you deviate from the guidelines. Here are the map guidelines: 1: Your map must be limit-removing or vanilla compatible. 2: Incorporate at least 1 Plutonia texture into your map. 3: Do not include any custom textures. 4: Each person can submit up to 2 maps. 5: Ensure your WAD is co-op compatible. 6: Your map must be complevel 4. 7: You must include the name of your map. If you don't, it will be chosen by me. 8: You must use EXACTLY 100 line specials. No more, no less. Make sure that it contains 100 line Specials. NOT 100 lines. Maps for Map01-14, as well as 2 secret maps, are eligible for submission. The 15th map will be made by me Right now, Map02-14 and 2 secret levels are available While participation is open to all, we encourage you to thoroughly playtest and refine your map for both gameplay and aesthetics before submitting it. The deadline is October 14. This can only be extended if a map is being made but not finished. -
