How to import custom CWILV font level name?

If I recall correctly, The level names are actually just images. I would guess that your running into problems since its not TEXT its a TEXTURE. Yep, just checked DOOM2.WAD, CWVIL00 is map01 CWVIL01 is map02 and so on, so instead of doom writer you should probably be using SLADE. (Again, if I recall correctly, im a little new to this first.) -

But what if you could... Then again, It may be a good thing culturally. I mean, can you imagine a world without terry wads? In all seriousness, this is actually really cool and could be used for IMSCARED level fuckery. If myhouse popped off I'd love to see what you could do with this, just be careful. -

I shudder to imagine the inhuman arts of terry wad-ing if you somehow got this to work. Maybe, like the makers of jurrassic park, you should stop and think wheter you should rather than if you could. -

How to transfer a sprite from a sprite sheet faster

I think they're asking, in a roundabout way, for just some simple fast methods for getting singular sprites from sprite sheets / turning sprite sheets into many individual sprites. The 'my current method is pretty slow' thing is more context for the issue than necessary information. -
Talk about it, just played the first one and it uses the goddamn imperial march from star wars.

Perhaps check magic the gathering lands? They have some decent art (Though im not sure how well the images would convert into the doom palette.)

Kinda strange that they would include impossible maps, but I guess even they cant have played all of them before release lol. That said, this pack gives me the strange itching to play as much of it as possible. Maybe document my findings... what an idea.

And before you ask, I have successfully converted other such files into DOOM GFX, its just this one thats a bit weird.

Thanks man, unfortunately Im on a bit of a time limit for this wad so im not sure if tuning something like that is in the cards, still, good to know I COULD do it if I wanted to. -
Is DOOM 2 meant to be played continuously?

Exactly this, sandy petersen plays doom with pistol starts since thats the way he designed the levels. But continuous play is whats meant for more casual audiences. I say continuous is fine until you get bored of it. But at the end of the day, the only 'correct' way to play doom is the way you want to.
