This is perfect because it lets me play at school. They would block sourceports, but anything run in DOSBOX is safe from the school's blocking methods! So yeah, perfect

This is a classic in the gaming, and modding, community. The Regestered verson is much better, though.

Doom rocks

I love it too much. I played it for the first time when i was 8 or 9. Now i am almost 23, and I still play it on ZDaemon! Doom: Knee-Deep in the Dead is really better than E2, E3 and Doom2 combined. It's simply epic, legendary. Just like Iliad and Odyssey by Homer, the Divina Commedia by Dante Alighieri, or Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. It's a milestone, it's immortal!

I fuckin love this game! Eve since I've seen my friend playing Resurrection of Evil, I've been addicted to the Doom franchise. Forever a classic, and forever remembered.

Isn't it kind of bullshit that the demo versions of DOOM on Xbox Live and the Playstation network only let you play for like 3 minutes before they make you stop? Technically the first 9 maps have always been free to play. I'm calling bullshit on Bethesda for that. Make E1 free. (5 stars, goes without saying)

This is the greatest thing to come out of PC gaming. Ever.

Yes, this is a good game, but it is unfortunate that 18 years later no OS wants to run the original 1.9 exe without a bunch of extra programs. You're probably better off getting a source like Boom or MBF than taking the effort to get DOSbox to get this all to work. In short, the game is good but modern technology doesn't like vanilla.

This version has various bug fixes, includes the new DM.EXE (DeathManager) shell, the new DWANGO.EXE app, rewritten SETUP.EXE and slightly modified SERSETUP and IPXSETUP programs. Read the DM.DOC and DWANGO.DOC on information about the new programs. Also included is the quite awesome DOOM FAQ v6.666! Read it and weep! The IDDT network cheat bug has been fixed. E3M9 bug has been fixed.
