My music. Made in Cubase.

I really liked this song.

By the way, please use spoilers when you have lots of images or videos to post, it only makes scrolling a pain.

Had no idea what Cubase was, so I looked it up. Also surprised that it's been around for almost 30 years.

Actually, I made music in Cakewalk Pro 9 as a MIDI and then modified In Cubase (8 Pro version).

I've made it for 6 years ago, but I think it as the best sound that I've made.

I've been working on some piano 'miniatures' lately for my degree - check them out if you like classical music!

That is some good stuff @TheUltimateDoomer666, I'm not good enough at sound design yet to get awesome nasty sounds like that lead :( What were ththe exact synth/settings used, I know you said a saw and distortion but there is obviously more than that :D

I have been in a pretty inspired mood lately and felt like making a couple of Doomy midi-style songs which I uploaded to my soundcloud recently (and pestered the JOM discord about too hehe), I don't feel like they are quite as good as a lot of the songs I have heard on here but I am definitely improving slowly, here is my song "Your Impending Doom"

The lead is basically just a saw that sounds thin and tinny on its own (and the bass is a generic, clean synth bass sound with no distortion).  A lot of the power comes from the mixing and processing of the song itself.  The settings for mixing are going to be very different depending on the song, so simply re-creating the saw preset isn't going to sound the same.

The final sound is a result of many factors:  chorus and distortion effects, the punch of the drums and bass, extra compression and drive applied to the entire track, and of course sidechaining the lead and bass to the kick/snare.

What's that? You wanted beautiful music? I don't have beautiful music but I can give you shitty singing.

I was playing Oxenfree and I sort of felt a vibe to make a song based off of it. Admittedly, my singing sucks ass, but I kind of like the lyrics I wrote. And the instrumental isn't terrible, even though I did it with GarageBand loops.

Now, this, I'm proud of. I also used GarageBand loops for it, yeah, but I really love the way everything here flows together. It just sounds fantastic to me compared to Dimensions.

Okay, now THIS s beautiful music. I wanted to try and make it sound similar to the Doom 64/Doom PSX soundtrack, and I think I nailed that. I especially love how I ended the song.

EDIT: There's a Soundcloud link instead

Have some metal/rock - My current band, DOOMKOPF

(no, it's just a pun on the german word "dummkopf", and not Doom-related ;)

Alright, so my school's film festival is tonight and I thought I'd post these here. The film and music theory classes came together for the music theory students to compose soundtracks for the film students' short films. It was actually kind of difficult for me to capture the tone of the movie I composed for ("CTRL ALT DEL"), especially with the incredibly vague brief I was given, but I finished it and the directors were perfectly okay with me releasing the music I did. So here, have some soundtrack work I did.

Now I need to take a break from music for a bit, considering how I'm pushing music out rapid-fire.
